What is Silk Dupioni?
The word Dupioni (pronounced DOO-PEE-ON-E) references the DOUBLE NESTED cocoons spun side-by-side and interlocked. This is what creates the fabric’s characteristic slubs and nubs. Spelling variations include dupione, douppioni, or duppionni, etc.
This fabric is 100% natural silk. The expected characteristics are yarn irregularities and variations in shade. Their presence is not a defect.
This “China silk” dupioni has a mostly straight selvedge edge as it is tightly machine woven. The slubs are not as prominent as they are in “India Silk.”
Remember, colors might differ across electronic devices and display settings. We strived to describe each color variation accurately, often using a color wheel or random props/backgrounds. The item for sale is only the fabric and does not include any items used as props.
Vibrant and quality silk. Packaged with care which is much appreciated.
