100% Pure Silk Dupioni – Deep Orange (54″)

Silk Dupioni aka Silk dupione, douppioni or duppionni but correctly pronounced DOO-PEE-ON-E. The word comes from the French and references the DOUBLE NESTED cocoons that are spun side by side and interlocked and used to make the slubs and nubs that are so characteristic of this fabric.

This fabric is 100% natural silk. Yarn irregularities and variations in shade are in no way to be considered defective as they are the characteristics of silk.

India silk is softer than China silk and not as tightly woven. The selvedge edge is not as linear and the slubs are more prominent than they are in China silk.
